Overview:
POWER SYSTEM ENGINEERING
An M. Tech program in Power Systems Engineering has been started from the academic year 2012-13. This program is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, and is a unique program offered in Northern Karnataka region. This two-year Post Graduate degree level course imparts education in Power Transmission systems, Power System Analysis and Operation, Power System Transients and Protection, Power System Dynamics and Control, and High Voltage DC Transmission. Potential aspirants both from academic institutions and industry can utilize this unique opportunity. The program goal is to provide an education that is directly applicable to a career in industry and is suitable for fresh graduates, as well as experienced professionals who want to receive the necessary retraining to change careers. The department is also undertaking testing and third-party inspections on request basis. Thus, the department inspired and having succeeded its motto Professional competence with Positive Attitude and now marching towards Professional Excellence with Positive Attitude.
