Admission to BE courses – Norms & Procedure


Norms

SDMCET a premier institute in India accepts admissions through 3 selection processes for all branches of undergraduate courses: Viz. COMMON Entrance TEST(CET), COMEDK and MANAGEMENT quota.

Eligibility

The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 exam or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government/ University with English as a compulsory subject.

The General Merit candidates should have passed 2 nd PUC or 10+2 examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. English must be a subject of study. However, educational qualifications/eligibility criteria prescribed by the competent authority in regulations/guidelines issued from time to time will be applicable in deciding the eligibility.

Other conditions

1. CET Quota: The candidate should have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognized educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years commencing from 1st standard to 2nd PUC / 12th standard as on 1st July of the year in which the Entrance Test is held.

Eligibility/Admissions/allotments made to & by the colleges shall be subject to approval by AICTE/Government/University.

2. COMEDK Quota: Candidates from all over the country are eligible to apply provided they should have appeared for the COMEDK Entrance exam ( UGET 2017) and should have fulfilled academic eligibility.

3. Management Quota: Candidates from all over the country /NRI/ Foreign National are eligible to apply under Management Quota. An attempt in the COMEDK or CET Entrance Test or any other Entrance test (recognized) for seeking admission to Engineering courses under the management quota is considered adequate.

Admission procedure & documents to be submitted

  • Purchase Admission Application form at the cash Counter in Administrative office.
  • Fill the application form in BLOCK LETTERS ONLY, wherever mentioned.
  • Prescribed Fees to be remitted to Bank through challans/ online.
  • Submit the completed Application Form along with the following documents & bank receipt. (Original + 4 sets of photo copies) to admission section. Keep one set of documents with the candidate.
  • If Hostel admission is required, purchase Hostel Admission Form by paying Rs.25/- by cash at the counter & submit the completed hostel admission form along with the D.D. / cash remitted Bank challans towards hostel fees.

Documents to be produced for 1st year BE admissions

  • Admission Allotment Order downloaded from student login(if COMEDK/CET).
  • X std. / SSLC Marks Card.
  • XII std. / PUC Marks Card.
  • Study / Character Certificate as submitted in Counseling.
  • Transfer Certificate of XII std. / PUC (TC or LC).
  • Cast / Income Certificate (for SC/ST/CAT1/IIA or IIB/IIIA or IIIB).
  • Migration Certificate (for Non Karnataka candidates).
  • Aadhar card xerox of the student.
  • PAN CARD Xerox of the parent.
  • Document Verification slip copy issued by KEA.
  • Downloaded copy of KEA Fee challan.
  • 04 PP size photo of the student.

Lateral Entry to III Semester BE for Diploma students

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates should have obtained a minimum of 45% aggregate marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and Sixth Semester) of the Diploma examination. In case of candidates belonging to SC, ST and Backward Classes a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and Sixth Semester) of the Diploma examination).
  • The candidates should have appeared for DCET exam conducted by KEA.
  • Candidates from Karnataka state are eligible.

Documents to be produced for 2nd year BE (Lateral Entry) admissions

  • Admission Allotment Order downloaded from student login(for DCET).
  • X std. / SSLC Marks Card.
  • Diploma all semester marks Card.
  • Study / Character Certificate as submitted in DCET Counseling.
  • Transfer Certificate of diploma college(TC).
  • Cast / Income Certificate (for SC/ST/CAT1/IIA or IIB/IIIA or IIIB).
  • Aadhar card xerox of the student.
  • PAN CARD Xerox of the parent.
  • Document Verification slip copy issued by KEA.
  • Downloaded copy of KEA Fee challan.
  • 04 PP size photo of the student.

M.Tech and MBA(Post Graduate)

Eligibility Criteria – M.Tech/MBA

  • The candidates should have obtained 50% of aggregate minimum marks taken together in all the subjects for all the years of the Degree examination. (45% of Aggregate marks in all the subjects for all the years in the Degree examination in case of candidates belonging to SC,ST and Category-1.
  • The candidates should have appeared for Post Graduate Common Entrance Test conducted by KEA.
  • Candidates from Karnataka and other states are eligible.

Admission procedure & documents to be submitted

  • Purchase Admission Application form at the cash Counter in Administrative office.
  • Fill the application form in BLOCK LETTERS ONLY, wherever mentioned.
  • Prescribed Fees to be remitted to Bank through challans/ online.

  • Cast / Income Certificate (for SC/ST/CAT1/IIA or IIB/IIIA or IIIB).
  • Aadhar card xerox of the student.
  • PAN CARD Xerox of the parent.
  • Document Verification slip copy issued by KEA.
  • Downloaded copy of KEA Fee challan.
  • 04 PP size photo of the student.
