Education is basically to bring about the behavioral change which is the result of both cognitive and affective learning. SDMCET is committed for imparting quality education in the field of Engineering and Technology and has the recognition by NBA, NAAC and consistently ranked high by various ranking agencies. The quality in education is achieved through the state of the art curricula along with related facilities such as vision of the Management, strategic plan, infrastructure, Human resource etc. The curricula are designed by making reference to the vision of the institution, body of the knowledge prescribed by both the legal and professional organizations, taking inputs from various stakeholders with suitable emphasis on theory and practice incorporating the essence of NEP 2020. The enriched curricula help to meet the immediate and long term requirements of both the local and global industries, Govt. organizations, PSUs etc. The curricula gap if any is addressed by the value addition programs and flexible curricula.
SDMCET is known for strong and disciplined teaching learning process using innovative teaching techniques, tools to initiate implementation of Outcome Based Education; interleaving research in teaching is practiced by the committed and dedicated faculty members and well supported by the non-teaching staff. The conducive environment for effective learning to acquire better skills to support the National ambitious missions such as Make in India, Digital India etc., includes digital classrooms, state of the art laboratories, knowledge resources, blended mode of teaching, experiential learning etc. The students are encouraged to take industry defined Electives and Projects, participate in sports, curricular and extracurricular activities. Regularly conferences and workshops are organized to expose the faculty and students to the latest happenings in technology.
At SDMCET, the faculty members are carrying out the research funded by the State, central and university funding Agencies and also undertaking consultancy and testing assignments in which students are also involved. Placement and Centre for Industry Institute Interaction (CIII) facilitates the students for placement, training, internship, entrepreneurship, start up and related value addition programs. SDMCET has entered in to MOU with industries, institutions, Government organizations both at National and International level with objectives of training, placement, higher education, faculty and students’ exchange etc.
The Engineering graduates need to be equipped with Graduate attributes to provide solutions for any Engineering problems for the comfort of the Society with competency and by practicing the values and Ethics. With the support of Visionary Management, the Institute aims to provide well rounded personalities to the National Technical Man power pool to serve the societal comfort both in Local and Global scenario thus establishing individual identity and enhancing the credibility of SDMCET.
