Learning for Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere – NPTEL Awareness Workshop at SDMCET, Dharwad in Collaboration with IIT Madras
SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad hosted one day workshop on 19th July 2018. The workshop entitled “NPTEL Awareness Workshop’’ was co-hosted by IIT, Madras. The function commenced with the invocation song by Mrs. Varsha Joshi. The dignitaries gracing the programme were Prof. Andrew Thangaraj, Prof. Prathap Haridoss and Ms. Bharathi Balaji – from IIT, Madras. National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning which is an initiative by seven Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institute of Science for creating course contents in engineering and science. Most of the Contents for the courses were based on the model curriculum suggested by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the syllabi of major affiliating Universities in India. Resource persons addressed the programme and told about the importance of NPTEL online Courses for free of cost, after successful completion of the Online courses candidate will get the Certificate from IIT Madras. They emphasises the more about to course material (Text, Video and PPTs) for faculty members and students for better understanding of their academic courses. In addition, the course materials are freely accessible by everyone independent of their geographic location. These courses can be used by professionals for updating their academic background.
Prof. V. K. Parvati, Convener of Workshop welcomed the gathering. Dr. Jagadeesh D. Pujari(HOD-ISE) briefed the objectives of the workshop. Dr. S. B. Vanakudre, principal of the college, narrated the achievements of SDMCET in enhancing the learning process. All the participants need to make use of NPTEL e-learning material to enrich their teaching and learning process. Dr. S. R. Biradar, Dr. Rajashekarappa, Coordinators of Workshop, Dr. Shridhar Joshi, Prof. Arati Nayak, Prof. S. S. Joshi, Prof. Tanweer Ahmed, Mr. Shrinath Betgeri, Mr. Sunil Mansur and other faculty members of ISE, CSE, E&C, EEE, Civil, ME, MBA, Maths, Physics, Chemical and Librarians participated the programme. Around 250 participants from different engineering, management, polytechnic, science and arts colleges from different states were participated in this workshop. Master of Ceremony by Ms. Anusha and Dr. Vandana S. Bhat concluded the programme with vote of thanks
